How Students Would Improve Wellness on Campus
The recent Academica wellness survey of postsecondary students from across Canada explored what caused them stress, how they deal with stress, and what role—if any—they feel their postsecondary institution plays in their personal wellness.
The survey found a disparity between the level of responsibility students ascribed to their institutions and the level of support they felt they were getting. Many postsecondary students think that their institution needs to do something differently to fulfill the needs of their students.
University students asked for:
More Supports: focused on adding new or expanded resources to support student well-being
Reduced Stressors: focused on removing the factors that created additional stress in a student’s life
Improved Awareness: focused on the marketing and communications of the institution’s well-being offerings.
