Our layered approach is working
The need for the healing effects of social connection and community has never been greater.
This year, thanks to visionary leadership of Frances Keene, we have been able to elevate the need for digital well-being inspiration, awareness and education at Virginia Tech.
We have seen incredible wins such as...
73.8% uptake of new digital well-being practices - making and sustaining a behaviour change [JOMO residential pilot]
More than 50% of students used the JOMO(box) with 37% using it multiple times. Students liked the reminders “to be present,” “how [VT] is encouraging disconnecting to reconnect,” and thought the conversation cards paired with the phone boxes were “good way to get people engaged with each other.” [JOMO dining pilot]
Virginia Tech named the first Digitally Well University in the world
Our layered approach is working. Thanks to the distinctive JOMO campaign look, students are connecting the dots between the original in-class videos [JOMO classroom pilot] to the phone boxes to the residential challenge - all reinforcing the core messages and learning outcomes.
