JOMO(campus) partners with SCSBC, and the Baylor Center for School Leadership

TORONTO, CANADA, June 20, 2024 — We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between JOMO(campus), the Society for Christian Schools of British Columbia (SCSBC), and the Baylor Center for School Leadership (BCSL).

This strategic collaboration is designed to leverage the strengths and shared values of each organization to foster educational excellence, innovation, and leadership within the Christian school community. By combining resources and expertise, we aim to provide unparalleled opportunities for professional development, student enrichment, and digital wellness.

One of the cornerstone initiatives of this partnership is implementing a new digital wellness program for Christian high schools across North America. This program will promote digital well-being for every student, empowering school communities to deepen learning and engage with technology in healthy ways. We aim to enhance joy, connection, focus, and flourishing in classrooms, hallways, and homes by fostering a school-wide digital well-being culture rooted in the Christian worldview. Phone-free classrooms are just the first step in this comprehensive approach.

For the 2024-2025 school year, select schools are invited to join in the work of adaptive change, and use Improvement Science tools to guide our work in implementing JOMO practices. This proven methodology guarantees greater fidelity of implementation and impact within each school community.

The Improvement Community process, facilitated by Erik Ellefsen of the BCSL, in partnership with JOMO(campus) CEO and digital wellness expert Christina Crook, and Darren Spyksma, SCSBC’s Associate Executive Director, will ensure significant change at each school that directly impacts student engagement and well-being. This collaborative effort will enable schools to navigate the complexities of digital wellness while staying true to their individual school’s faith-based principles.

We believe this partnership marks the beginning of a transformative era for Christian education. By working together, JOMO(campus), the SCSBC, and the BCSL are committed to creating a nurturing, empowering, and innovative educational landscape. Our mission at JOMO(campus) is to promote digital well-being for every student, and through this partnership, we are excited to empower school communities across North America to achieve this goal.

We look forward to the impactful outcomes this collaboration will bring and invite our communities to join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter.
