Join the Coalition for Collegiate Digital Well-being Kick-Off Meeting on May 3, hosted by Virginia Tech

Leaders from the University of Virginia, James Madison, University of Lynchburg, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest University gathered this spring for a college digital well-being learning event.

On Friday, May 3rd, we celebrate Global Digital Wellness Day, and what better way to honor the occasion than by brainstorming strategies to integrate digital well-being practices at your institution?

You are warmly invited to join the Coalition for Collegiate Digital Well-being Kick-Off Meeting, a free virtual event hosted by Virginia Tech (meeting details below.)

In navigating the evolving landscape of higher education, technology remains a permanent fixture. The Coalition for Collegiate Digital Well-Being, a collaborative initiative, aims to delve into digital well-being research, best practices, and innovative ideas that can be implemented across our campuses. Our ultimate objective is to experiment collaboratively to discover effective strategies that foster digital flourishing for our students rather than overwhelm them.

If you've participated in any digital well-being-related events over the past year and expressed interest in joining our coalition, we're thrilled to invite you to transition from ideation to action as we embark on our summer planning phase. This is not just an invitation but an opportunity for personal growth and professional development as we work together to shape the future of digital well-being in higher education.

Goals of Our Kick-Off:

  • Gain insights from Dr. Frances Keene, Vice President of Student Affairs at Virginia Tech, during a Q&A session focusing on strategies to engage stakeholders and secure buy-in (learn what convinced her!)

  • Hear student perspectives and reflections on digital well-being practices at Virginia Tech this year.

  • Discover actionable ideas to kick-start your efforts this fall.
